When our founder, Bert, decided to take a step back and pass the torch to his daughter, Daria, we found ourselves at a pivotal moment. Solving IT has always prioritized authenticity, individuality, and entrepreneurship. These values are not just buzzwords, but principles reflected in our actions.
As we planned for the next chapter of Solving IT, we saw an opportunity to place our values front and center by becoming a certified Women’s Business Enterprise (WBE) and LGBT Business Enterprise (LGBTBE). This formalized commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion also meant embracing the “queer” label in a professional context.
After months of navigating the complexities of being “out” as a company, we recognized the opportunity to positively influence the economic and social impact of the LGBTQ+ community. We understood that fully embracing authenticity was crucial for our employees, clients, consultants, and communities.
Solving IT recently celebrated a year of being openly “out.” This year has brought uncomfortable moments, hard conversations, and valuable learning experiences. It has also been a year of tremendous growth and impact. Today, 33% of our Senior Leadership Team (SLT) identifies as LGBTQ+, and 66% of our SLT are women. Our employees reflect our value of diversity, with over 60% belonging to an ethnic minority and over 60% identifying as female. As we enter 2025, our commitment to uplifting the LGBTQ+ community remains a top priority, with several exciting new initiatives on the horizon.
