Blockchain and Student Data
September 6, 2017 @ 6:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Blockchain has been finding more and more use cases in the social impact and civic space. When the requirement is that records be distributed, immutable, and secure, many minds automatically move in the direction of the distributed ledger. Take data on students, for example. Every time you do research that requires looking at student data, permissions are required by the custodians of those records (parents, students, etc.). Come hear from Impact Lab’s Matt Gee on how THRIVE is looking at this approach to support research that in turn is supporting Chicago youth from cradle to career.
