Beginning with Xamarin by interacting with Arduino devices

Martin Reinke will be talking about his garage opener project with an Arduino micro controller device and cell phone clients, interacting over the LAN, implemented in C++ and Xamarin C#.

The talk will cover the following topics:

• Short introduction to Arduino, and the Arduino ecosystem, the reasons for choosing Arduino as hardware base. 

• A brief introduction to Xamarin – and some newcomer’s experiences.

• The project architecture and a communication protocol developed for it.

• Demonstration of some code &

• Some aspects of IoT security and a security evaluation of the project.

Martin Reinke

Martin’s original background is environmental engineering, he has a PHD in environmental microbiology, developing miniaturized and automatized methods for detecting the toxicity levels of industrial waste waters.This led him to an employment with HB-Technologies AG in Tübingen, Germany (http://www.h-net.com/?lang=en). The company is specialized in software and instruments for life science and biochemistry.  Martin is developing applications for lab instrument interfaces and process automation – as well as web applications. His main programming languages are C# and Delphi.
