About Jannie Chang
A lawyer walked into a data science bootcamp… with a J.D. from DePaul University College of Law and a B.A. in film-making from U.C. Berkeley. Jannie has always had an affinity for storytelling, communication, and computers. Having spent her career as a litigation support attorney, relying on OCR software to analyze and optimize legal protections over electronic evidential data, she recognized the need for a transition from the non-technical perspective to the technical. At Metis, she learned to apply her long-cultivated analytical and communication skill to use data in more efficient, cost-effective, and creative ways. As a data scientist at Heretik, she applies her technical perspective and skills back into the legal community. Heretik brings order to the disorder of electronic databases. They provide data science-based tools to process, organize, and analyze contracts, so that busy professionals can focus on what really matters. But at its core, Heretik is a merry band of unique individuals working together on a common mission to slay the three-headed hell hound of inefficiency, costliness, and intellectual stagnation. Jannie’s Skills: Python, Natural Language Processing, Topic Modeling, Data Clustering, Classification, Deep Learning, Machine Learning, Pandas, BeautifulSoup , SQL, MongoDB, and Git/ Github
