Spring 2021 Salesforce Release Highlights

It’s that time of year again, Salesforce Release time! As many of you know, Salesforce releases new functionality for administrators and end users each quarter. You can check out Salesforce’s release notes here. I have put together some of my favorite new features from the Spring ‘21 Release.

Lightning Page Performance

One of the most exciting new features in the Spring ‘21 Release is enhancements to the Lightning Page Performance analysis. Administrators can now get more detailed information such as the predicted page load time, as well as information about which components could be slowing down your load time. One of the most common complaints I get from clients about Salesforce Lightning is that it is slow. This tool makes it easy to find out which components are causing the lag.

You can even do the same analysis for Lightning Pages Viewed on a Phone.

Sharing Records

Sharing records is now available in Lightning Experience with the Spring ‘21 release. Salesforce end users will be able to click “Sharing” on a record in Salesforce and select what type of access you would like to give other Salesforce users. This is great for collaborating when Salesforce orgs are following a closed sharing model. Now Administrators can give Salesforce end users the ability to share records amongst themselves to work as a team. This will save a lot of time not having to change sharing settings each time a Salesforce end user needs to collaborate on a record.

High Velocity Sales

I recently implemented High Velocity Sales in our own org at Solving IT, so I’m always excited to hear about the newest features. Seems like Salesforce took some inspiration from 2020 and added features for those of us that are now working from home. Call Coaching now supports video calls. Setup Zoom as one of your call recording providers. Then you can use the same Call Coaching features with video calls, like metrics on mentions of pricing, competitors, or products talked about during the call. You can even access video call data in the call coaching dashboards.

Experience Cloud

This one isn’t so much a feature, but rather, a name change. Community Cloud is now called Experience Cloud. Many of our Solving IT Edge clients are using this cloud and making the mental switch will be important for admins navigating the setup menu. Check out some of the other changes to Experience Cloud coming in this release here.

It’s always exciting to hear about the changes coming in a Salesforce release. Let us know which new features you are most interested in by emailing us at possibilities@solvingit.com.
